Net Texts came to Icreon to develop a way for teachers to build digital textbooks using various resources of free educational information. The goal was to develop a way for students and teachers to easily access information without being constricted to the traditional textbook.
The idea sprung after realization that the textbook industry is a billion dollar industry, monopolized by just a few brand names. Net Texts wanted to build a technology platform that enables teachers to distribute educational content across numerous mobile platforms including tablets, smartphones, laptops, and the web.
Icreon built the technology from scratch. From teachers taking surveys, to working designs with actual students, we placed heavy emphasis on making sure the features we were building would actually be used by students and teachers. This guaranteed that the technology platforms were built around the needs and capabilities of Net Texts biggest customers – schools.
Net Texts apps all have the functionalities to view and edit content such as documents, slideshows, videos, interactive tests, and web links
Courses that are used on Net Texts are automatically stored on mobile devices so that students can use the educational material regardless of connectivity.
When students download updates for courses, only new information is downloaded to save on time, bandwidth, and data costs for schools.
Net Texts apps have sign on functionalities that allow a student to sync course data across iPads, Android tablets, PCs & Chromebooks.
